I'm David Lemarier. I live in Victoriaville, Quebec.
From a young age, I was captivated by both the thrill of the outdoors and the challenge of technology. Growing up in a rural town, riding ATVs and snowmobiles with friends fueled my adventurous spirit, while diving into code—teaching myself HTML and PHP before moving on to C—ignited a lifelong passion for innovation.
Leading Popcorn Time was a turning point. We pioneered desktop applications built with HTML technologies long before Electron existed, collaborating closely with the NW.js team. In 2013, when streaming was a far-off dream with limited choices, Popcorn Time broke barriers by offering instant access to movies and TV shows regardless of regional restrictions.
Later, as CEO of a VPN company, I successfully managed a platform serving thousands of clients, broadening my expertise across multiple tech spheres. Each step of my journey has been driven by a commitment to innovation and a curiosity for what's possible.
Today, I leverage that same curiosity into developing robust software with Rust and contributing to open-source projects like Tauri.
